Practical resources for industrial material sourcing.

Use these guides and checklists to prepare clearer RFQs, confirm product specifications and define documentation requirements for pipes, valves, fittings, flanges and related industrial materials.

02 / QUALITY & DOCUMENTATION

Define quality and documentation requirements at the RFQ stage.

Quality and inspection requirements should be identified before the order is placed. The project specification, purchase order and agreed inspection plan determine the final documentation scope.

01

Material certificates

Specify the required mill test certificates and EN 10204 3.1 documentation where applicable, with heat-number traceability to the supplied material.

MTCEN 10204 3.1Heat No.
02

Inspection & testing

Identify required inspection and testing such as PMI, dimensional checks, hydrostatic testing and third-party inspection before sourcing.

03

Traceability

For project-critical materials, define marking, heat traceability, certificates, inspection records and packing documentation in the purchase requirements.

04

Project specifications

Client specifications, manufacturer requirements and project datasheets may take precedence over generic product descriptions. Include the latest applicable documents with the enquiry.

03 / EPC PROCUREMENT

From BOQ or MTO to a coordinated project supply.

A structured RFQ helps align the product, specification, quantity, documentation and delivery requirement before sourcing and quotation.

01

Requirement

BOQ, MTO, MRL, datasheet or material requisition.

02

Specification review

Product, grade, dimensions, standards and documentation.

03

Sourcing & availability

UAE stock where available, with additional sourcing as required.

04

Quality & delivery

Inspection, documentation, packing and delivery coordination.

05 / FAQ

Common questions when preparing an industrial RFQ.

For a project-specific requirement, send the BOQ, MTO, MRL or datasheet so the applicable specification can be reviewed with the enquiry.

What information should I include in a material RFQ?

Include the product description, material grade, size, wall thickness or pressure class, applicable standard, quantity, required documentation, delivery location and required date. A BOQ, MTO, MRL or project datasheet is ideal.

Which standards should I include in a piping RFQ?

Depending on the product and project, commonly referenced standards include API, ASTM, ASME, EN, DIN and NACE/ISO 15156 requirements. The applicable project specification remains the controlling requirement.

Which quality and inspection documents can be requested?

Depending on the order and project specification, documentation can include mill test certificates, EN 10204 3.1 certificates, heat-number traceability, inspection records, PMI reports and other agreed quality documents.

Can Gasify support a complete piping material requirement?

Yes. Gasify can coordinate sourcing for pipes, valves, fittings, flanges and related materials from a BOQ, MTO, MRL or project specification, subject to availability and the applicable project requirements.

06 / START A REQUIREMENT
