About Our Libya Supply

Your Trusted Industrial Materials Partner
for Libya's Oil, Gas & Industrial Sector

Libya holds Africa's largest proven oil reserves — approximately 48 billion barrels — and is one of the world's lowest-cost oil producers, with premium quality Libyan crude (Brent-linked Es Sider, Sharara, and El Feel grades) commanding top dollar on European markets. The National Oil Corporation (NOC) is the sole state hydrocarbons authority, managing all upstream production through a network of wholly-owned subsidiaries and joint ventures with major IOCs including ENI, Repsol, TotalEnergies, ConocoPhillips, and OMV. Libya's oil industry, while periodically disrupted by political challenges, remains one of the most valuable and potentially high-growth energy provinces on the African continent.

Libya's oil production — centred on the Sirte Basin, which contains the majority of the country's proven reserves — flows via pipeline to export terminals on the Mediterranean coast: Es Sider (Libya's largest oil export terminal), Ras Lanuf, Brega, Zawia, and Mellitah. The Mellitah LNG Plant (ENI/NOC — Wafa and Bahr Essalam fields) is Libya's sole LNG export facility, supplying Italian and European markets via the Greenstream pipeline and LNG tankers.

From UAE, Gasify Middle East serves Libya's industrial procurement with sea freight to Tripoli or Misrata in just 4–6 days — one of the shortest sea freight routes from UAE to Africa — and air freight within 12–24 hours for emergency requirements.

Key NOC subsidiaries and JVs operating Libya's oilfields include Waha Oil Company (ConocoPhillips/Marathon/Hess/NOC — Sirte Basin, Waha, Dahra, Samah, Gialo fields), Akakus Oil Operations (Repsol/TotalEnergies/OMV/NOC — Murzuq Basin, Sharara, El Feel fields), Mellitah Oil & Gas (ENI/NOC — Wafa, Bahr Essalam, and Mellitah LNG), Sirte Oil Company (NOC wholly-owned — Sirte Basin), and Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) (NOC wholly-owned — Benghazi-based, Sarir, Nafoura fields).

We supply API 5L PSL-2 line pipes for Libya's pipeline network, NACE MR0175-compliant materials for Libya's sour crude and H₂S gas environments, LNG cryogenic-grade pipes and valves for Mellitah LNG plant maintenance, and complete industrial material packages for NOC subsidiaries, IOC JVs, and Libya's active reconstruction and oil infrastructure rehabilitation programmes — all with full Arabic-language documentation support and MTC 3.1/3.2 certification.

Libya's proximity to UAE via the Mediterranean Sea makes it one of the fastest and most cost-effective supply destinations in Africa — sea freight from Jebel Ali to Tripoli or Misrata in just 4–6 days, faster than many routes to other North African destinations.

Libya's Oil & Gas Geography

Libya's petroleum industry is organised around three primary geographical units. The Sirte Basin in central Libya — one of the most prolific petroleum basins in Africa — holds the majority of Libya's reserves and is home to Waha Oil Company's giant Sirte Basin fields, Sirte Oil Company operations, and Zueitina Oil Company concessions. Oil from the Sirte Basin flows via the National Oil Corporation's pipeline network north to Mediterranean coast export terminals: Es Sider (Libya's largest export terminal, 350,000 bpd capacity), Ras Lanuf (220,000 bpd), and Brega (Marsa El-Brega).

The Murzuq Basin in the remote southwest — where Akakus Oil Operations (Repsol/Total/OMV/NOC) operates the giant Sharara (NC-115) and El Feel (Elephant) oilfields — has become Libya's highest-growth production zone, with Sharara alone capable of producing 300,000+ bpd when fully operational. Murzuq crude flows north via the Sharara pipeline to Zawia terminal west of Tripoli.

Cyrenaica (eastern Libya) hosts AGOCO's operations at Sarir, Nafoura, and Nakhla — exporting via the Brega (Marsa El-Brega) terminal and Zueitina terminal. The Mellitah coastal complex near Tripoli hosts Libya's sole LNG plant and ENI/NOC's gas processing infrastructure.
